Ingredients:
- 1 sleeve saltine crackers (about 40–45 crackers)
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup red and green M&M’s or holiday sprinkles (optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a rimmed baking sheet with foil or parchment paper and lightly grease.
- Arrange the saltine crackers in a single layer, covering the entire baking sheet.
- In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter and brown sugar together. Bring to a rolling boil and cook for 3 minutes, stirring constantly.
- Carefully pour the hot toffee mixture evenly over the crackers.
- Bake for 5 minutes, or until bubbly.
- Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle chocolate chips evenly over the top. Let sit for 2–3 minutes until melted, then spread smoothly with a spatula.
- Sprinkle with M&M’s or holiday sprinkles, gently pressing them into the melted chocolate.
- Allow to cool completely, then break into pieces and serve.
