Cheesesteak Stuffed Garlic Bread

Ingredients:

  • 1 large loaf Italian bread
  • 1 lb (450 g) thinly sliced beef
  • 1 cup sliced bell peppers (mixed colors)
  • 1 cup sliced onions
  • 2 cups shredded provolone cheese

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the sliced beef in a large pan over medium-high heat until browned. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same pan, sauté the bell peppers and onions until soft and lightly caramelized.
  4. Add the cooked beef back to the pan and stir to combine. Remove from heat.
  5. Slice the Italian bread lengthwise, making sure not to cut all the way through.
  6. Hollow out some of the inside of the loaf to make space for the filling.
  7. Fill the bread with the beef, pepper, and onion mixture.
  8. Add the shredded provolone cheese, pressing it into the filling.
  9. Wrap the entire loaf in foil and place it on a baking sheet.
  10. Bake for 15–20 minutes, or until the cheese is completely melted.
  11. Unwrap the foil and bake for an additional 5 minutes to crisp the top of the bread.
  12. Allow it to cool slightly, then slice and serve warm.
