Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
 - 2 tsp baking powder
 - ½ tsp baking soda
 - ¼ tsp salt
 - ¼ cup sugar
 - 1 large egg
 - ½ cup buttermilk
 - ¼ cup milk
 - 2 tbsp melted butter
 - Oil for frying
 - Powdered sugar (for dusting)
 
Instructions:
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and sugar.
 - In another bowl, whisk egg, buttermilk, milk, and melted butter until smooth.
 - Combine wet and dry ingredients until a soft dough forms.
 - On a lightly floured surface, roll out dough to ¼-inch thick and cut into squares.
 - Heat oil to 350°F (175°C) in a deep skillet.
 - Fry beignets in batches for 1–2 minutes per side or until golden.
 - Drain on paper towels and dust generously with powdered sugar.
