Apple Pie Biscuits

Ingredients

For the Apple Filling:

  • 2 medium apples, peeled and diced
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon butter

For the Biscuits:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup cold butter, cubed
  • 3/4 cup milk

For the Glaze (optional):

  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1–2 tablespoons milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

1. Prepare the Apple Filling:
In a small skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the diced apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla extract. Cook for 5–7 minutes until the apples are soft and coated in syrup. Set aside to cool.

2. Make the Biscuit Dough:
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Gradually stir in the milk until a soft dough forms.

3. Assemble the Biscuits:
Roll the dough into a rectangle (about ½ inch thick). Spread the cooled apple mixture evenly over the surface. Roll it up tightly and cut into 8–10 slices. Place them in a greased baking dish.

4. Bake:
Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 18–22 minutes, or until golden brown.

5. Add the Glaze:
Whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and cinnamon. Drizzle over warm biscuits before serving.

Serving Tip:
Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a drizzle of caramel sauce.
