Apple Caramel Bombs

Ingredients (for the apple filling):

  • 2 medium apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp work best)
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 3 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp granulated sugar
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt
  • Soft caramels or caramel sauce (for the center)
  • Biscuit or crescent dough (for wrapping)
  • Oil for frying or butter for baking

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Apple Filling:
    Peel and dice the apples. In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add sugars, cinnamon, and salt. Stir in apples and cook until soft and caramelized (about 5–6 minutes). Let cool slightly.
  2. Assemble the Bombs:
    Flatten each piece of dough, place a spoonful of apple filling in the center, and add a caramel piece. Seal tightly into a ball.
  3. Cook:
    • For frying: Heat oil to 350°F (175°C) and fry until golden brown.
    • For baking: Brush with butter and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 12–15 minutes.
  4. Serve:
    Drizzle with warm caramel sauce and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.
