All-in-One Dough Magic

Ingredients:

  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour (about 440 grams)
  • 1 cup warm milk (240 ml)
  • 1/4 cup warm water (60 ml)
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast (1 packet, 7 grams)
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 tablespoons oil or melted butter

Instructions:

  1. In a large bowl, combine warm milk and warm water. Add sugar and yeast. Stir lightly and let sit for 5–10 minutes, until foamy.
  2. Add flour and salt to the bowl. Mix until combined.
  3. Add oil or melted butter and mix until a soft dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for 8–10 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the dough back in the bowl, cover with a clean cloth, and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  6. Gently punch down the dough and divide as needed for your recipe.

Tips for Best Results

  • Make sure liquids are warm, not hot, to avoid killing the yeast
