German Chocolate Pie

Ingredients:

  • 1 unbaked pie crust (9-inch)
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter
  • 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 3 large egg yolks
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 ⅓ cups sweetened shredded coconut
  • Whipped cream (for topping, optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Melt chocolate chips and butter together in a saucepan over low heat, stirring until smooth. Remove from heat.
  3. Stir in sweetened condensed milk, egg yolks, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Fold in chopped pecans and shredded coconut.
  5. Pour the filling into the unbaked pie crust and smooth the top.
  6. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the filling is set and the crust is golden brown.
  7. Cool completely before serving.
  8. Top with whipped cream and extra coconut or pecans if desired.
