Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 lb ground pork (optional for extra flavor, or use additional beef)
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup bread crumbs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 medium onion, finely diced
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 6 slices cooked bacon, chopped (optional topping)
Instructions
1. Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
2. Combine the Ingredients:
In a large bowl, mix together the ground beef, ground pork (if using), breadcrumbs, milk, ketchup, mustard, egg, onion, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper until well combined. Fold in half of the shredded cheddar cheese.
3. Form the Meatloaf:
Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in the prepared pan. Spread a thin layer of ketchup on top if desired.
4. Bake:
Bake for 45–55 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
5. Add Cheese and Bacon:
Remove from the oven, sprinkle the remaining cheddar cheese and chopped bacon on top, then return to the oven for 5–10 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
6. Rest and Serve:
Let the meatloaf rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing. Serve with mashed potatoes, salad, or steamed vegetables.
Serving Tip:
Add pickles or drizzle with burger sauce for an authentic cheeseburger flavor.
