- For the Dough
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup cold butter, cubed
- 1/4 cup cold water
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

- 1/2 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 small potato, diced
- 1/2 cup diced carrots
- 1/2 cup peas
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp cumin
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste

Directions:
- Make the Dough: In a large bowl, mix flour and salt. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Gradually add cold water until dough forms.
- Wrap and refrigerate 30 minutes.
- Prepare the Filling: Cook ground beef in a skillet over medium heat until browned. Add onion, potato, carrots, and peas. Season with garlic powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook until vegetables are tender. Let cool.
- Assemble Pies: Roll dough to 1/8 inch thickness. Cut 4-inch circles. Place a tablespoon of filling in the center, fold over, and crimp edges. Brush with egg wash.
- Fry Pies: Heat oil to 350°F (175°C). Fry pies in batches until golden and crispy, about 3-4 minutes. Drain on paper towels and serve hot.
