Custard Pie

Ingredients:

  • 1 unbaked pie crust
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 6 large eggs, having them at room temperature is a must
  • ¼ teaspoon of nutmeg
  • 2 teaspoons of vanilla
  • 3 cups of whole milk, having it at room temperature is a must
  • ⅛ teaspoon of nutmeg, for garnish

Instructions :

  1. Prep Crust:
    Fit pie crust into pie dish. Crimp edges; chill.

  2. Make Filling:
    Whisk sugar and eggs until frothy (2 mins). Add vanilla, ¼ tsp nutmeg.
    Gradually whisk in milk until smooth.

  3. Bake:
    Pour filling into crust. Sprinkle ⅛ tsp nutmeg.
    Bake at 350°F (175°C) 45-55 mins. Use pie shield after 30 mins to prevent burning.

  4. Set:
    Cool completely → refrigerate 4+ hours.
