Butterfinger Puppy Chow

Ingredients:

  • 7 cups Rice Chex cereal
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup salted butter
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 18 fun-size Butterfinger candy bars, chopped or crushed
  • 1 1/4 cups powdered sugar

Instructions:

  1. Place the Rice Chex cereal in a large mixing bowl. Set aside.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine chocolate chips, peanut butter, and butter. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring well after each, until fully melted and smooth.
  3. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Pour the chocolate mixture over the cereal. Gently fold until all cereal is evenly coated.
  5. Add the chopped Butterfinger candy bars and carefully mix to distribute without breaking the cereal.
  6. Transfer the coated cereal into a large resealable bag or a container with a tight-fitting lid. Add the powdered sugar, seal, and shake until evenly coated.
  7. Spread the puppy chow onto a parchment-lined baking sheet and let cool completely, about 30 minutes.
  8. Once set, store or serve.

Storage

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days, or refrigerate for longer freshness.

Tips

  • For extra Butterfinger flavor, reserve a few crushed pieces and sprinkle them on top before serving.
  • Let the chocolate mixture cool slightly before adding powdered sugar to prevent clumping.
