Ingredients:
- ½ cup sliced almonds
- ½ cup salted peanuts
- ¾ cup white sugar
- ½ cup salted butter
- ⅓ cup water
- ½ cup light corn syrup
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
Instructions:
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
- In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter completely.
- Add water, sugar, and corn syrup. Stir until the sugar dissolves, about 2 minutes.
- Insert a candy thermometer and continue cooking, stirring often, until the mixture reaches 300°F (about 15 minutes).
- Remove from heat and quickly stir in the baking soda.
- Immediately add the almonds and peanuts, stirring to coat evenly.
- Pour the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet and spread as thin as possible.
- Let cool for 30 minutes, then break into chunks.
