Mini Apple Fritter Waffle Donuts

 

Ingredients:

  • Waffle Donut Batter
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 2 Tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 Tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1/2 Tbsp oil
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded apples
  • Glaze
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 3–4 Tbsp milk
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • Cinnamon sugar (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the waffle iron.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cornstarch. Add egg, milk, and oil; mix until combined. Gently fold in shredded apples.
  3. Spray the waffle iron with nonstick spray. Drop batter by tablespoonfuls onto the iron and cook 3–5 minutes, until golden. Transfer to a wire rack to cool slightly.
  4. Whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
  5. Dip each waffle donut into the glaze, let excess drip off, and optionally sprinkle with cinnamon sugar. Allow glaze to set before serving.
