Ginger Ale–Honey Mustard Glazed Ham

 

Ingredients

  • 1 (8½ lb) ham
  • 1 cup ginger ale
  • ¾ cup prepared mustard (yellow or Dijon)
  • ½ cup honey
  • ½ cup light brown sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Place the ham in a shallow roasting pan and pour the ginger ale into the pan.
  3. Cover loosely with foil and bake for 2½–3 hours.
  4. About 30 minutes before the ham is done, prepare the glaze by mixing mustard, honey, and brown sugar in a bowl.
  5. Remove ham from the oven and score the top.
  6. Generously spread the glaze over the ham.
  7. Return to the oven uncovered for at least 10 minutes, adding more glaze if desired. For extra moisture and flavor, spoon some of the ginger ale pan juices over the ham.
  8. Remove from oven and let rest briefly before slicing and serving.
