Caramelized Onion Tart

Ingredients:

  • 2 large onions, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • ½ cup shredded Gruyère cheese
  • Fresh thyme (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add sliced onions and cook, stirring occasionally, for about 20 minutes until soft, golden, and caramelized.
  3. Roll out the puff pastry and place it on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  4. Spread the caramelized onions evenly over the pastry, leaving a small border around the edges.
  5. Sprinkle Gruyère cheese over the onions.
  6. Bake for 15–20 minutes, until the pastry is golden and crisp.
  7. Garnish with fresh thyme and serve warm.
