Ingredients:
For the Beef Patties
- 4 lbs ground beef
- 2 eggs, lightly beaten
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (optional, for firmer patties)
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 2 teaspoons black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
For the Stack
- 12–16 slices cheddar cheese (or American cheese)
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup pizza sauce or thick marinara
- 1 small onion, thinly sliced
- 1 cup dill pickle slices
- 8–10 slices cooked beef bacon or turkey bacon (optional)
Optional Toppings
- Sliced tomatoes
- Cooked mushrooms
- Jalapeño slices
Instructions:
- Prepare the Beef
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, eggs, breadcrumbs (if using), salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently until just combined. - Form and Cook Patties
Divide the mixture into large patties (about 8 thick patties). Cook in a skillet over medium heat or grill until browned on both sides and mostly cooked through. Set aside. - Assemble the Stack
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a large baking dish, spread a thin layer of pizza sauce. Place one beef patty on top, add a slice of cheddar cheese, some onions, pickles, and bacon. Add another patty on top to form a “double cheeseburger” layer. - Repeat Layers
Continue stacking patties and toppings until all patties are used. Spoon remaining pizza sauce over the top and sprinkle with shredded mozzarella. - Bake
Cover loosely with foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 10–15 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly. - Rest and Serve
Let the stack rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing. Serve hot.
Serving Suggestions

Variations
- Spicy Version: Add jalapeños and pepper jack cheese.
- BBQ Style: Swap pizza sauce for BBQ sauce and use smoked cheddar.
- Low-Carb: Skip breadcrumbs and serve with roasted vegetables instead of fries.
