Ingredients:
Brownies:
- 1 cup butter
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 4 cups mini marshmallows
Frosting:
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/3 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 1/2 cups powdered sugar
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, melt 1 cup butter. Stir in granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Add cocoa powder, flour, and salt. Mix until smooth, then fold in pecans.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and bake for 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle the mini marshmallows evenly over the top. Return to the oven for 5 minutes, or until the marshmallows are puffed.
- While the brownies bake, prepare the frosting: Melt 1/2 cup butter in a medium saucepan. Stir in cocoa powder and milk until smooth. Remove from heat, add vanilla, and whisk in powdered sugar gradually until smooth.
- Pour the warm frosting evenly over the marshmallow layer. Spread with a spatula if needed.
- Let the brownies cool completely before cutting into squares.
