Sizzling Scallops with Zesty Lime Cilantro Sauce

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb sea scallops, patted dry
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Juice and zest of 1 lime
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Optional: red pepper flakes for heat

Instructions:

  1. Pat the scallops completely dry and season both sides with salt and black pepper.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the scallops in a single layer and sear for 2–3 minutes per side, until golden brown. Do not overcrowd the pan.
  4. Remove the scallops and set aside.
  5. In the same skillet, add the butter and garlic. Cook for 30 seconds.
  6. Stir in the lime juice, lime zest, and cilantro. Let simmer for 1 minute.
  7. Return the scallops to the pan and spoon the sauce over them.
  8. Serve immediately with extra cilantro or lime wedges if desired.
