Ingredients:
Cake Base
- 1 (15.25 oz) box chocolate cake mix
- 3 eggs
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup water
Peanut Butter Layer
- 1 block (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup creamy peanut butter
- 3 cups powdered sugar
Add-Ins
- 1 cup peanut butter chips
- 1 cup milk chocolate chips
- 1 to 1 1/2 cups chopped Reese’s peanut butter cups
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, prepare the chocolate cake mix by mixing the eggs, oil, and water until smooth. Pour the batter into the prepared dish.
- In another bowl, beat the cream cheese, butter, and peanut butter until creamy. Add the powdered sugar and mix until smooth.
- Drop spoonfuls of the peanut butter mixture over the chocolate cake batter. Do not mix; leave it uneven so it forms the “earthquake” effect while baking.
- Sprinkle peanut butter chips, chocolate chips, and chopped Reese’s cups evenly over the top.
- Bake for 40–45 minutes, or until the center is mostly set.
- Cool slightly before slicing. Serve warm or at room temperature.
