Ingredients:
- 2 cups flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- ¼ tsp salt
- ½ cup sugar
- 1 egg
- ¾ cup milk
- 2 tbsp melted butter
- 1 tsp vanilla
Instructions:
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
- Add the egg, milk, melted butter, and vanilla. Mix until a soft dough forms.
- Knead gently for 1–2 minutes until smooth.
- Roll the dough out on a lightly floured surface to about ¼-inch thickness.
- Cut into circles using a biscuit cutter or the rim of a glass.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat.
- Cook each gordita for 2–3 minutes per side, or until golden and cooked through.
- Serve warm, plain or dusted with sugar.
