Ingredients :
- 1 1/2 pounds fresh French green beans, halved (or 2 cans green beans, rinsed and drained)
- 10 oz mozzarella cheese, grated
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1/4 white onion, finely chopped
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Salt and pepper to taste
Directions :
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
Bring a pot of salted water to a boil, add the green beans, and cook for 4–6 minutes until tender-crisp. - Transfer beans to an ice bath to stop cooking, then drain and place in a baking dish.
- Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add the onion and cook for about 4 minutes until softened.
- Stir in flour and garlic powder; cook for 1 minute while stirring. Season with salt and pepper.
- Add sour cream and cook until the mixture begins to boil.
Pour the mixture over the green beans and stir to coat evenly.
Top with grated mozzarella. - Bake for 20–22 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Let cool 5 minutes before serving.
